As an Infrastructure and Project Management Specialist, you will design, implement, and oversee infrastructure projects in the region. Responsibilities include:
1. Infrastructure Development & Implementation- Oversee the planning, design, and execution of infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to UNOPS policies, international engineering standards, and best practices.
- Lead project assessments, feasibility studies, and risk analysis to ensure project sustainability.
- Coordinate with local authorities, government agencies, donors, and stakeholders to align infrastructure projects with regional development goals.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure efficient project execution.
- Provide technical guidance and strategic recommendations to teams handling infrastructure and engineering projects.
- Ensure the use of sustainable construction practices while incorporating climate-resilient infrastructure solutions.
- Establish strong working relationships with government ministries, municipalities, NGOs, and private sector partners.
- Provide technical support and training to enhance the capabilities of local engineers and project managers.
- Advocate for inclusive, gender-responsive, and environmentally sustainable infrastructure solutions.
- A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is required.
- A Bachelor’s degree combined with additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in infrastructure development, civil engineering, or project management.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects in post-conflict or developing regions is an asset.
- Experience with UN agencies, international NGOs, or development organizations is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of results-based project management, risk assessment, and budget management.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
- Knowledge of Arabic or Hebrew is an advantage.
