Job overview:

The Business Development Manager is a key role in the Ross Video, Vertical Markets team. They play an active role in achieving sales and gross profit goals for the Sports and Entertainment Vertical Market by developing, building, and strengthening long-term relationships with customers, consultants, and partners. The BDM works in close partnership with sales and business development counterparts and the wider Ross client facing teams to drive results in customer retention, RFP response management for large, specialized projects, and new leads/opportunities, and are responsible for developing unique relationships with consultants and business partners in their territorial regions. For day-to-day work, this individual must have excellent skills at developing relationships which will allow them to understand the objectives of the customer and the larger trends within the market. As a valued team member, they will need to identify process gaps with other business units at Ross, and continue to drive success in global sales targets. What the job is all about:

  • ​​Work collaboratively with the regionally based Sales Managers and Inside Sales representatives to determine and implement opportunity specific sales approaches guided by the Ross Way to Sell
  • ​Assist consultants with updated RFP/Tender specification data
  • ​Manage the day-to-day activities to support the Sports & Entertainment sales efforts Globally, including preparing quotes and providing guidance to re-sellers, system integrators and clients to facilitate the purchase of Ross solutions.
  • ​Manage RFP/Tender responses through collaboration with Solution Architect(s) and Inside Sales
  • ​Manage communication with Display Manufacturers to ensure solution fit
  • ​Manage monthly pipeline review activities to ensure accurate Global forecasting
  • ​Ensure customer order flow by following the clean order criteria
  • ​Maintain accurate customer data within the corporate CRM solution
  • ​Assist in resolution of customer complaints regarding equipment, supplies, and services.
  • ​Proactively manage key sales campaigns identified in the annual territory plan
  • ​Review articles in trade publications to keep abreast of the latest developments in the Sports & Live Event production market.
  • ​Perform other related duties as required.

Who you are:

  • ​​Minimum 5 years’ experience in a complex sales environment.
  • ​Demonstrated experience in RFP response, opportunity qualification, account development, and time management.
  • ​Demonstrated ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with consultants, customers and business partners.
  • ​Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • ​Familiarity with the key components used in video production applications is an asset.
  • ​Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills.
  • ​Demonstrated ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
  • ​Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • ​Highly proficient with customer relationship management (CRM) software such as Salesforce.com.
  • ​Experience with Solution Sales.
  • ​Experience Selling Live Video Production software and hardware an asset.
  • ​Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • ​Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
  • ​Desire to constructively contribute to a team environment.
  • ​Perform other duties as assigned.​

Bonus points if you have the following:

  • ​​College Diploma or University Degree in related discipline and/or equivalent work experience.
  • ​Five years’ work experience within a sales position.
  • ​Demonstrated experience in RFP/Tender response, opportunity qualification, account development, and time management.
  • ​Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals to exceed sales targets.
  • ​Experience in sales forecasting & pipeline management.
  • ​Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software such as Salesforce.com is an asset.
  • ​Strong organization and communication skills.
  • ​Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills.
  • ​General interest and knowledge of global sport/esport leagues.
  • ​Ability to schedule duties/projects (multi-task).
  • ​Ability to work unsupervised, attention to detail and an evident work ethic.
  • ​Ability to thrive in stressful situations.
