Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Financial Services to lead our financial operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, financial management, and strategic planning within diverse sectors, including non-profit and governmental organizations. This leadership role requires a comprehensive understanding of financial concepts, risk management, and advanced financial analysis to support organizational growth and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and fiscal planning to align with organizational goals.
- Lead the preparation and interpretation of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP, IFRS, IAS, and ASC 606 standards.
- Manage corporate accounting functions such as general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, cost control, and account analysis.
- Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to mitigate financial risks across the organization.
- Ensure regulatory reporting requirements are met accurately and timely for governmental agencies and other stakeholders.
- Supervise treasury management activities including cash flow analysis, investment management, and revenue recognition.
- Drive business development initiatives by identifying growth opportunities within financial services sectors.
- Lead strategic planning efforts to optimize financial performance and support organizational expansion.
- Oversee compliance management related to financial regulations and internal policies.
- Manage financial software systems to streamline reporting processes and improve data accuracy.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on financial decision-making, including profit & loss analysis, cost management, and revenue optimization.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of IFRS, IAS, GAAP, ASC 606 standards, and technical accounting principles.
- Proven expertise in corporate finance, risk analysis, treasury management, and investment management.
- Strong background in governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, public accounting, and regulatory reporting.
- Proficiency in financial software tools for general ledger reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, and bookkeeping.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to develop teams and influence organizational change through strategic planning.
- Advanced skills in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, cost control, and cost accounting.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex financial reports and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong understanding of compliance management practices related to financial services industry standards. Job Overview:
As the Director of FP&A, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial reporting and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial information.
You will collaborate closely within the finance and accounting team as well as senior leadership to ensure corporate goals, cash flow management, capital deployment and expense management.
We are seeking a leader for the FP&A team in supporting the broader organization in financial analysis, forecasting and strategic initiatives.
This role requires a background that demonstrates the ability to own the full suite of financial reporting and analysis within a fast growing, dynamic organization and is ideal for someone who is looking to utilize their finance, accounting and analytical skillsets to contribute to our organization's growth.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the financial reporting function, ensuring compliance with Special-Purpose and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Strategic partner to internal executives and leadership to help set departmental goals and analyze budget and trend variances
Support the CFO in owning the production of Board financial packages and ad hoc presentations / forecasts
Oversee the preparation and filing of timely financial statements, including quarterly and annual reports, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Lead efforts to enhance the application of technology to the financial reporting function. Expand capabilities with current reporting and reconciliation systems (Planful/Blackline) and explore other technologies that can further streamline the compilation and analysis of financial results
Lead efforts to implement new partners and sales channels
Provide technical accounting guidance and support to various departments, ensuring proper accounting treatment for complex transactions.
Assist with audit requests (internal and external)
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
FP&A management experience within a fast-paced environment, preferably Private Equity owned; Background in Big 4 accounting, consulting or banking a plus
Developed understanding of insurance related accounting concepts a plus.
Prior experience with an insurance company or service of insurance clients
Proficiency in reporting systems and tools; advanced Excel skills are required
Must be authorized to work in the U.S
Must be able to successfully pass a background check
