Latent Viruses Intern, Infectious Disease Epidemiology
Join Moderna as a Summer 2026 Intern supporting epidemiologic research and vaccine development for latent viruses including CMV.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Gain exposure to the role of Epidemiology in vaccine development, supporting clinical trial phases and post-market research.
- Lead and execute epidemiologic analyses on latent viruses and related health outcomes, including study design, data analysis, and interpretation of results.
- Communicate findings effectively through data visualization, reports, and presentations to cross-functional teams and leadership.
- Participate in biweekly discussions on evidence generation strategy and the value proposition of latent virus candidate vaccines.
About You
The company is looking for:
- Currently enrolled in a PhD, MPH, or MS program in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, Global Health, or a pharmaceutical-related field (exceptional BA/BS students may be considered).
- Strong background or interest in epidemiology and biostatistics.
- Minimum GPA of 3.4.
- Interest in vaccine development, pharmacoepidemiologic methods, and data-driven decision-making.
- Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and a collaborative yet independent work ethic.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with SAS or R is a plus but not required.
- Personal attributes: Strong communication skills, ability to meet deadlines, team-oriented mindset, adaptability under pressure, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Must hold work authorization in the US without need for future immigration sponsorship.
