Space Planning Analyst I

Responsibilities<br><br><p style="margin: 0px;">The Space Management Team, known as Shelf Edge at H-E-B, coordinates with Forecasting and Replenishment, Suppliers, Brokers, and Store Operations, and collaborates with Procurement, Merchants, and regional leadership.<br><br>As a Space Planning/Merchandising Analyst I, you'll translate Business Development Manager (BDM) / Buyer strategy into clustered and Store-specific plan-o-grams that meet sales, margin, operations, and productivity goals. You'll focus on becoming familiar with and learning to operate category management systems.<br><br>Once you're eligible, you'll become an Owner in the company, so we're looking for commitment, hard work, and focus on quality and Customer service. 'Partner-owned' means our most important resources--People--drive the innovation, growth, and success that make H-E-B The Greatest Omnichannel Retailing Company.<br><br>Do you have a:<br>HEART FOR PEOPLE... willingness to work as part of a team?<br>HEAD FOR BUSINESS... ability to learn processes / systems to meet sales and productivity goals?<br>PASSION FOR RESULTS... drive to support timely projects through completion?<br><br>We are looking for:<br>- some experience in retail, merchandising, consumer packaged goods, or familiarity with plan-o-grams<br><br>What is the work?<br>Analytics:<br>- Learns to analyze / implement category management processes and activities<br>- Learns space planning plan-o-gram (POG) software<br>- Learns to use category knowledge base (CKB) reports<br>- Learns to read AutoCAD, Revit, and floor planning documentation<br>- Creates / captures plan-o-grams for store operation execution based on BDM strategy<br>- Imports / exports space planning POG and financial metrics to help analyze business decisions<br>- Applies basic understanding of category financial analysis to create / capture plan-o-grams for store operation execution based on BDM strategy<br>- Applies basic understanding of H-E-B assortment tools; uses data to collaborate with BDM to create POGs<br>- Accurately captures product attributes (e.g., product dimensions, description, size, unit of measure, presentation, capacity, item status)<br>- Monitors / corrects daily POG exception reports<br>- Manages primary section assignments by Store, for assigned categories<br>- Validates all fixtures in POGs<br>- Collaborates with BDM to create POGs based on 5-year plan for all Shelf Edge activities<br>- Creates communication documents for Store merchandising execution; resolves POG issues<br>- Offers merchandising suggestions and recommendations to BDMs / Buyers<br>- Adheres to Shelf Edge activity timelines for assigned categories, including task prioritization<br><br>What is your background?<br>- A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience<br>- Experience in retail, merchandising, consumer- packaged goods, or familiarity with plan-o-grams<br><br>Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Space Planning/Merchandising Analyst?<br>- Intermediate written / verbal communication and presentation skills<br>- Intermediate PC skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote) and Zoom<br>- Analytical and project management skills<br>- Organization and time-management skills<br>- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks; attention to detail<br>- Ability to work in a highly cross-functional / team environment<br>- Ability to learn and adapt quickly<br>- Ability to work with general supervision<br>- Ability to work in a virtual / remote location<br>- Ability to stay highly resilient<br><br>Can you...<br>- Function in a fast-paced, retail, office, and remote environment<br>- Travel by car or plane with overnight stays<br>- Work extended hours; sit / stand for extended periods<br>- Occasionally lift 20 lbs or more<br><br>11-2021</p>
